William Novak, 90, of Scott Twp. died Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at home.  He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Sonia Kalaha Novak.  She died on April 22, 2008.

Born and raised in Scott Twp., he was the son of the late Alfred and Mary Begey Novak, and he was a member of SS Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church, Olyphant.  He was a graduate of Scott High School, and he was an owner/operator truck driver for over 73 years, and he was a former member of the Teamsters Union.  He served with the United States Marine Corp., during the Korean War.

He was a caring father, grandfather, and great grandfather who enjoyed driving trucks and spending time with his grandchildren.  He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Surviving are three sons, William and wife, Karen, Scott Twp.; Daniel and wife, Ann, Dalton; and Michael and wife, Lisa, Scott Twp.; seven grandchildren, William Novak and wife, April, Kristopher Novak, and Steph, Anthony Novak, Daniel Novak, and wife, Darcy, Alicia Novak, and Robbie, Mikey Novak and Madi and Nicholas Novak; a step-grand-daughter, Samantha Carrick and husband, Richard; great-grandchildren, Lexi and Gabrielle Novak, Robbie and Savannah Goodwin; great step-grandchildren, Elliot, and Tyler Carrick, and Caitlyn Burns; a sister, Helen Novak, and brother, Ted Novak, and wife, Cynthia; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, John Novak.

The funeral with military honors will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with  Liturgy at 11 a.m. in SS. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church by Rev. Nestor Iwasiw., pastor. Interment, St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Montdale.
