Stephen A. Toth, devoted husband, Father, Papa, Uncle and friend passed away on Wednesday July 19, 2017 at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore.  He is survived by his wife the former Caroline Wrobel.  They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on September 2, 2016.

 

Born in Dickson City, he was the son of the late Stephen and Elizabeth Burzon Toth.  He was a graduate of Dickson City High School class of 1956 and he served with the US Navy from 1956 to 1962 aboard the U.S.S. Randolph.  He was also a member of the American Legion Post 665, Dickson City.  He was a member of St. Adalbert’s Polish National Catholic Church, Dickson City.   In his early years he served as President of the YMS of R, he was a member of the Parish Committee and he served as a Sunday school teacher of Christian Living.

 

Steve was a volunteer with the Dickson City Fire Company and Dickson City Ambulance Association from 1962 to 1974.  He also coached the Lakeland Braves Miss C league from 1979 to 1985.  He was employed by the W.W. Norton book Publishing Co., Dunmore, for 53 years before retiring in 2013.

 

He was known for always making people laugh, cracking jokes and for using what he thought was proper English; things like, “whatchamacallit”, “couple two tree”, “hawd dawg”,everyding,  just to name a few.  He brought so much strength and love to our family and he will always hold a special place in our hearts forever.  We’ll miss you Pop!!

 

He is survived by his children, Stephen M. Toth, Scott Twp., David Toth and wife, Susan, Glassboro, NJ, Mark Toth and wife, Mary Ann, Clarks Summit and Deborah Seymour and husband, Sam, Chapman Lake; three grandchildren who were the pride and joy of his life, Francesca, Cassandra and Gianna Toth all of Clarks Summit; four step grandchildren and eleven step great grandchildren; sister in law who was considered a sister, Lois Wrobel, Clarks Summit; brother in law, Robert Sevensky, Rochester, NY; several nieces and nephews, especially Sandee Wrobel Phillips, Frank Wrobel III and David Paul Wrobel and their families. The family would like to thank everyone for all their love and support through this difficult time.

 

He was preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy Toth, Elizabeth Toth-Zero (who passed on February 27, 2017; father and mother in law Frank and Mary Wrobel, brothers in law, Frank Wrobel and Al Zero and sister in law Doris Sevensky.
