Stanley J. Zuczek, 87, of Dickson City, entered into eternal rest on January 6, 2022, at the Gino Merli Veterans Center, Scranton.  He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Janet (Scott) Zuczek.

Born in Olyphant, Stan was the son of the late Michael and Veronica (Harhut) Zuczek.  A graduate of Olyphant High School, he attended the University of Scranton and Penn State University.  Stan served with the Army, 101st Airborne Division, and was honorably discharged.  He worked in insurance management and taught courses in insurance for various companies.  He was a member of St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City, and their Holy Name Society for many years.  Stan had a particular devotion to the Blessed Mother and carried his rosary with him everywhere.  He would often be found praying it while waiting in the car or dropping into a church during the day.

Stan thanked the good Lord every day for the blessing of his wonderful family.

Surviving is a daughter, Karen Zuczek, Massachusetts, and four sons, Dr. Stanley Zuczek, and wife, Dr. Cheryl, Kennett Square, PA; Daniel Zuczek, and wife, Carole, Maryland; Dr. Richard Zuczek, and wife, Etsuko, Rhode Island; and Matthew Zuczek, and wife, Holly, Ohio; grandchildren, Jeffrey and wife, Chantal, Nicholas, Alexander, Benjamin and Samuel; and great-granddaughters, Carlie and Ellie.

Stan was preceded in death by sisters, Genevieve Zuczek, Mary Boyer, and Monica Bonczkiewicz, and a brother, Michael Zuczek.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the nurses, staff and administration of the Gino Merli Veterans Center. They also wish to acknowledge the Lackawanna County Senior Van Service who transported his wife Janet on her frequent visits to Gino Merli during his stay.
