The funeral will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, Olyphant, Concelebrated by Rev. James Stachacz, nephew, and Msgr. Michael Delaney, pastor of Holy Cross parish. Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Interment Holy Ghost cemetery, Blakely.  To leave an online condolence visits the funeral home website.

Rose Marie Stachacz, 89, a resident of the Gino Merli Veterans Center, Scranton, and formerly of Dickson City, died Friday August 17, 2018 at the center.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Alex J. Stachacz, who died March 27, 2017.

Born in Blakely, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Anna Thomas Malaker.  Rose was a member of Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick’s Church, Olyphant, and she was a former member of Holy Ghost Church, Olyphant.  Rose was educated in Blakely schools, and prior to retirement she was employed as a beautician at Alva and Madelyn Beauty Salon, and as a manicurist at Henry Sacchetti’s barbershop.

Her family would like to thank the staff at the Gino Merli Veterans Center for their wonderful care and compassion.

She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt who enjoyed traveling with her husband and his brothers and sisters to all 50 states.

Surviving is a daughter, Karen Fitzpatrick and husband, Joseph, Dickson City; grandchildren, Jennifer Fitzpatrick and companion Joe Repella and Ryan Fitzpatrick; great-grandchildren, Justin and Katilyn Ezerskis; brother in law, Walter Stachacz, CT, sister in law, Tozia Stachacz, Dickson City; nieces and nephews.
