A memorial mass will be offered on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary Church, 624 Madison Ave., Jermyn. Interment of cremains will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, East Jermyn. Friends may call on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to service time at the church. Arrangements are by Frank T. Robert J. Evonits Jr., 56, of Mayfield, died on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton surrounded by his loving family.  He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Lori Lapiers Evonits.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of Robert Sr. and Mary Ann Wojciechowski Evonits, Greenfield Twp. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary Church, Jermyn.  He was a graduate of Lakeland High School, and Johnson College with an Associate degree in Tool and Die. He was employed by General Dynamics OTS, Scranton, and prevoiusly was an instructor at Trans America Tech.  He was a member of the IAM union.

He was a loving and caring husband, son, brother, and friend to many.  He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycles, summers at Twin Oaks campground, Cayuga, NY.  He was an avid hunter, and he was a member of the Mayfield Carbondale hunting club, and the #5 Hill Social Club.  Robert was a jack of trades, and he loved his dog companion Cooper. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Surviving is a sister, Sandra Delicati, and husband Paul, Archbald; a nephew, Paul Francis Delicati; mother-in-law Honey Lapiers; and “bonus kid” Lindsay Chorba.
