Friends may call on Monday, May 24, 2021, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City.  A blessing service will be conducted by Msgr. Michael Delaney at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Scott Twp. at 12 noon.  Military honors will be conducted at St. Joseph’s cemetery, Scott Twp.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.  Masks and social distancing will be required at the funeral home.  To leave an online condolence visits the funeral home website.

Robert Dobreniecki, 80, of Peckville, died Wednesday morning, May 19, 2021, at home.  He is survived by his life partner Pauline Thomas, and he was preceded in death by his former wife, Marie Dobreniecki.

Born in Dickson City, he was the son of the late Zigmund and Pearl Pawlowski Dobreniecki.  He worked at the family business, Lackawanna Sheet Metal, first started by his father in 1949.  Prior to that, he was employed as a clinical psychologist.  Bob held undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Scranton.  He retired from the US Army reserve in 1994 with the rank of Lt. Colonel.

While serving in Korea during the Vietnam War he was proud to wear the parachutist and expert infantryman’s badges.  Bob was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 665, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5937, both of Dickson City.

Bob’s hobbies were fishing, gardening, and anything to do with the outdoors.  He was proud of his fruit trees and enjoyed teaching the younger generation the wonders of nature.

He is survived by his siblings, Carol Towers, Dickson City, and Fred Dobreniecki, and his wife, Jane Clarks Summit; stepchildren, Jeanette Mitchell,  Elvira Escalera, grandchildren, whom he was most proud of, Shayonna Escalera, and Audrina Mitchell; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas Dobreniecki, and Edward Dobreniecki
