Regina J. Boyarsky, 87, a resident of Scott Township, died peacefully Friday morning July 17, 2015 at home with her family at her side. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Leo Boyarsky, who died September 9, 2003.

Born February 20, 1928 in Dickson City she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Stella Bielawski Krzykwa. She was a graduate of Dickson City High School, she went on to graduate from Lackawanna College’s business program, and was employed by Irving Grossman’s and Daystrom.  She was owner, manager and accountant of Boyarsky’s Tavern, Scott Township for forty-two years before retiring just one year ago.

She was a member of Corpus Christi Church, St. John Vianney Parish in Montdale and proudly served on the Pastoral Outreach Program, providing spiritual care to the home bound of her parish as well as parish members in nursing facilities. She was a member of the Catholic Women’s Club for almost 50 years and enjoyed membership in the Red Hat Society for many years.

Regina was devoted to God and her family and nothing gave her more joy than time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a lifetime Colts fan, but with a cowbell in one hand and a rosary in the other, she could be seen at a Lakeland Chiefs High School football game, a Pitt Panther College game and a Cincinnati Bengals NFL game all in one weekend to see her sons play. She had many interests but watching daily mass came first and then she enjoyed crossword puzzles, sports, politics and cooking large Sunday dinners for her family. She has been so much to so many but her greatest legacy is her faith that she has passed on to her family and friends. She had five children but she was “Mom” to so many more. She was a kind, comforting, and generous woman and she will be greatly missed.

Her family would like to thank Drs. Daniel Kazmierski, Christopher Dressel, Joseph Bannon and William Brown for their years of excellent care. Special thanks to Erick at Rite Aid and all the wonderful staff at Commonwealth Home Health for your care and compassion.

Surviving are her children, Stephanie Boyarsky, MD and her husband, Thomas Dzwonczyk, MD and their children, Tom and Katherine, N. Abington Twp., and Marybeth Sniegocki and her husband, Paul, Erie, PA and their children, Jacob and Nicholas; Jerry Boyarsky and his wife Erin, and their children, Jerry and wife, Michele, Zach, Krysta, Matt and Ashton, Scott Twp., Stanley Boyarsky and his wife, Robin; Scott Twp. and children, Mindy and Joseph; daughter in law, Maura Bieszczad Boyarsky and her children, Alex and Masha, Scott Twp., sister, Irene Kaczmarek, Dickson City; sisters in law, Clara Burden, Scott Twp and Helen Boyarsky, Lewisburg; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a son, Charles “Chas” Boyarsky, an infant granddaughter, Dana Sniegocki; a brother, Stanley Krzykwa and sisters, Sophie Skora and Helen Lipinski.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with mass at 10 a.m. in St. John Vianney Church, Montdale. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Scott Twp.
