Olga Bednarek, 98, died Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at Green Ridge Care Center, Scranton, Pa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Bednarek, who died May 28, 1993. Daughter of the late Andrew Wanuga and Mary Kuchwara Wanuga, she was a lifelong resident of Dickson City prior to entering Green Ridge Care Center.

She graduated from Dickson City High School as salutatorian of her class. She was retired from various management positions in the garment industry. She was a devote member of Saint Mary’s Greek Orthodox Catholic Church, Dickson City, and enjoyed attending many missions and other church-related activities.

She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Marcinkevich, Dickson City, two grandsons, attorney Frank Marcin and Drew Marcinkevich and wife Lucy, both of Dickson City, two great-grandchildren, Kyle and Amanda Marcinkevich, and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, John and Stephen Wanuga; and two sisters, Anna Wanuga and Elizabeth Generotti.
