The funeral will be held Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 9:30 am from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc., 601 Dundaff St. Dickson City with a mass of Christian burial at 10 am in St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City. Interment  St. Mary’s Visitation Cemetery, Dickson City. Michael Kula, 97, of Dickson City, died Tuesday morning May 10, 2022, at home.  He was preceded in death by his wife the former Josephine Przywara.

Born in Dickson City, he was the son of the late Michael and Anna Anesko Kula, and he was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City.  He dedicated his life to his church working diligently at all parish functions.  He was a member of St. Mary’s Usher Society, he worked for over 50 years at their parish bingo’s, and he was their long-time bingo caller.  He was a graduate of Dickson City High School, and for 20 years he delivered baked goods throughout the Mid Valley area.  Later he was employed for over 30 years by Farview State Hospital as the head of maintenance, along with serving as President of the Union.  After retiring from Farview he worked for the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc., Dickson City until retiring at the age of 90.

Mike was a caring brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend to many.  He enjoyed his daily walks, going to the casino, and watching westerns and NCIS on television, but most of all he loved being with his family, and his friends.  He will be deeply missed.

Surviving is his sister, Nettie Perko, Dickson City; niece Donna Cochrane-Kalinoski, and husband, Paul, nephew, Robert Perko, and wife, Chris, great-niece, and primary caregiver, Jade Wehner, niece Theresa Wehner, sister-in-law, and caregiver, Henrietta Wiltshire and husband, Bob, sister-in-law, Romayne Borawski; and other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Tsozia Kula, Elizabeth Kula. Dorothy Borys, MaryAnn Wrightson, and brother, Joseph Kula.
