Matylda T. Szymanski, 90, of Dickson City, died Friday morning April 7, 2017 at the Regional Hospital of Scranton.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John Szymanski who died March 25, 2013.

 

Born in Tajno-Lanowe, Poland, she was the daughter of the late Piotr and Marianna Arciszewska Kotowska and she was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Throop.  She was educated in Poland and prior to retirement she was employed as a seamstress at B&G Pants.

 

She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who enjoyed gardening, cooking for her family, walking and going to church.  She never turned anyone in need away from her door and she enjoyed spending her time with her children and grandchildren.  She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.

 

Surviving are six children, son, John Szymanski and wife Halina, Dickson City, son, Edward Szymanski, Dickson City, daughter, Donna Skowroski and husband, Henry, Dickson City, son, Joseph Szymanski and wife, Michelle, Throop, son, Eugene Szymanski, Dickson City and daughter, Margaret Zawoiski and husband, Myron, Blackwood, NJ; grandchildren, Gregory, Eryk, Christopher, Deryk, Kelsea and Lauren; nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Henry; a brother, Jozef and a sister, Phyllis Swietlicki along with several brothers and sisters in Poland.
