Mazur Funeral Home, Inc. 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City with mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City. Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dickson City. Mary Sherbinko, 85, of Dickson City, died Tuesday January 12, 2016 at the VNA Hospice at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward A. Sherbinko who died May 31, 1986.

Born in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Shannon Gallagher and she was a member of St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City, its Christian Mothers Society and their Quilters group. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to Eagle Hose Co # 1, Dickson City. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and prior to retirement she was employed by Sears Roebuck and Co.

She was a loving and caring mother, sister and aunt who loved animals. She was a compassionate person and caregiver, who enjoyed trips to Cape May and summers at her cottage at Handsome Lake. Her family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff at Life Geisinger and her caregivers, Marlene, Edith and Irena her special “Angels”.

Surviving are two daughters, Kathy Delconte and husband, Tony, Pittston, Joanne Sherbinko, Baltimore, MD; a son, Edward Sherbinko Jr., Dickson City; a sister, Kay Hohman, Pottsville; brother and sister in law, Thomas and Linda Sherbinko, Dickson City;   nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Ann Marie Sherbinko and a sister, Bernadette Mastrocola.
