Mary Monica Kenney, 89, of Orleans, MA; died Friday November 13, 2015 at Pleasant Bay Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Brewster, MA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene J. Kenney, who died August 28, 2011.

Born in Olyphant, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Edith Clarkson Nixon and she was a member of Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick’s Church, Olyphant and St. Joan of Arc, Orleans, MA. She was a graduate of Throop High School and she was a homemaker.

She was a loving and proud mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister who will be deeply missed by her family.

Surviving are five children, Diane Colleran and husband Henry, Harwich, MA, Eugene Kenney Jr., Olyphant, John Kenney and wife Margaret, Waunakee WI, Michael Kenney and wife Ivy, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Joan Ann Michlowski and husband Robert, Olyphant; 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; three brothers, Joseph Nixon and wife, Margaret, Boca Raton, FL, John Nixon, Simpsonville, SC, Robert Nixon and wife Edie, Medford, NJ; one sister, Joan Guinane and husband, Thomas, Longwood, FL; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by, a grandson, Ryan Edward Colleran, two sisters, Edith Morgan and Betty Javick; a brother, Hugh Nixon.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc. 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with mass at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick’s Church, Olyphant. Interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Blakely.

Aunt Monica will be missed dearly. Her smile lit up the room. I will always remember her smile and laughter. Sending my thoughts and prayers to you all.
