The funeral will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc. 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dickson City.

Friends may call Monday 5 to 7 p.m. For directions or to leave an online condolence visit the funeral home website.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or your local food bank.

Mary Ann Ponzely, 82, of Dickson City, died Saturday morning January 30, 2016 at the Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania, Scranton. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Myron Ponzely.

Born in Dunmore, she was the daughter of the late George and Margaret Gordich Suhow and she was a devout member of St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City. She was a graduate of Dunmore High School and she had been employed in the offices of Scranton Casket, D.G. Nicholas & Co. and the Scranton Wiping Company along with being a homemaker.

Mary Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend who attended mass daily. She enjoyed baking, trying all kinds of different foods, traveling especially her trip to Fatima. She was a generous person with a heart of gold willing to help anyone in need. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Surviving is a daughter, Karen Litak and husband, Peter, Skippack, PA; grandchildren, Nick, Katie and Alexandra Litak; a sister, Eleanor Olin, Conn., nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Michael, John and Paul Suhow and two sisters, Madelyn Suhow and Pauline Matylewicz.
