The funeral will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City.  Friends may call Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.  Interment SS. Lorraine Malewich, Dickson City, died Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Lehigh Valley Hospice, Allentown.

Born in Peckville, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Pearl Zablocki Szpara, and she was an active member of St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City, including the church choir, St. Ann’s Society, and she worked at the parish bingo.  She was trained as a stenographer, and she was employed by the railroad for 30 years, and after retirement she became a teacher’s aide in the Abington Heights school district.

Lorraine was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who enjoyed dancing, and donating her time to church activities.  She attended morning mass daily at St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City.  She will be deeply missed by her family, and friends.

Surviving is a daughter, JoAnn Harvie, and husband, James, Collegeville, PA; two grandchildren, Kent Harvie, and wife, Lauren, Schwenksville, PA, and Lindsay Harvie, Collegeville, PA;  brothers, Leonard Szpara, and wife Yvonne, Mt. Joy, PA, and Edward Sparrow, and wife, Patricia, Dickson City; nieces and nephews.
