Leonard’s funeral will be Saturday, at 9:30 from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City.  Interment of cremains will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dickson City.  Friends and family may call Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.  For directions or to leave an online condolence visit the funeral home website.

Leonard J. Chesnaky Sr., 82, of Dickson City, died on Tuesday morning at the Mountain View Care Center, Scranton.  He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dolores Berta Chesnaky.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late John and Catherine Killiany Chesnaky, and he was a member of St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City.  He was a graduate of Dickson City High School, prior to retirement he was a supervisor at the National Book Company.  Leonard served with the US Navy.

He was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, and friend who enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching racing, football, cutting wood, and trips with his wife to the Lancaster area, and Flea markets.  He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.  His family would like to thank the staff at Mountain View Care Center, and the Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their kind and considerate care.

Surviving is a son, Leonard Chesnaky Jr., Throop, and companion, Dawn Haberstroh; a sister, Marjorie Pruss, and husband, Anthony, Sterling; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Chesnaky.

Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City.  Interment with military honors of cremains will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dickson City.  Friends and family may call Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.  The family requests everyone attending kindly wear a mask.  For directions or to leave an online condolence visit the funeral home website.
