The funeral with military honors will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City with mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City.   Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Leonard H. “Chappy” Guzenski, 93, of Dickson City died Friday morning August 18, 2017 at home.  He was preceded in death by his wife the former Frances A. Miedzanowski; she died March 12, 2011.

 

Born in Dickson City, he was the son of the late Joseph and Helen Majewski Gurzynski and he was a member of St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City.  He was a graduate of Dickson City High School and upon graduation he enlisted in the US Coast Guard and served during World War II in the Pacific.  Prior to retirement he was employed as a foreman of Chemical Operations at Tenneco Chemical, Elizabeth, NJ.

 

Surviving are two sons, Leonard Guzenski Jr., Dickson City and Dennis Guzenski and wife, Jeanne, Pottstown; four grandchildren, Charles, Thomas and Michael Guzenski and Bonnie Kazanjian; six great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Joseph Glenn and three sisters, Stella Shuta, Fay Dominick and Anna Geeza.
