John’s funeral will be Wednesday, July 6th at 9 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, Olyphant.  Interment with military honors will follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery, Blakely.  Friends and family may call Tuesday, July 5th from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.  For directions or to leave an online condolence visit the funeral home website.

John D. Buckshon Jr., 86, of Olyphant, died on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at the Allied Services Rehab Hospital, Scranton.  He is survived by his wife of 64 years Sandra Wyszynski Buckshon.

Born in Jessup, he was the son of the late John and Mary Pollak Buckshon Sr., and he was a member of Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick’s Church, Olyphant.  He was a graduate of Jessup High School, and prior to retirement, he was employed by RCA Corporation.  He served with the US Army, and he was a member of the Raymond Henry American Legion Post 327, Olyphant.

Surviving are two daughters, Arlene Clements, and husband, Bob, KY, and Cindy Cherry, and husband, Rich, FL; grandchildren, Kristina Spradling, and husband, Juston, HI, Debbie and John Clements, KY, Mitch, Samantha, Dylan, and Audrine Cherry, FL; sisters-in-law, Joan Buckshon, NC, and Mary Lou Buckshon, Olyphant; numerous nieces and nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by an infant son John J. Buckshon, and three brothers, Frank, Joseph, and wife Elaine, and Nick.

Sandra and family, We are sorry for you loss. Jack always had something to say? He has a new audience for all of his stories now. He knew a lot of people. Every time we were there visiting he would introduce us to multiple people. He will be missed.
