There will be no public calling hours.  Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass on Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City.  Entombment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dickson City. Arrangements are by the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 Williams St., Dunmore, PA 18512. Joanne Michlowski, 95, a Dickson City resident, died Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit, Dunmore. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael J. Michlowski who died September 19, 1997.

Born in Olyphant, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Julia Komarnicki Matkosky, and she was a devout member of St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City. She was a 1944 graduate of Olyphant High School, and she had been employed by Billig Shoe, Peckville, and prior to retirement, she was employed by the Mid Valley Long Term Care Facility.  After retirement, Joanne provided home health care for a number of families throughout the area.

Joanne was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. At the age of eighteen, she gave up a potential career in music for her family.  She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching the daily mass on TV, and praying the rosary daily. She will be missed by her family and friends.

Surviving are four children, son Michael and Linda, son David and MaryAnn, daughter Marion and Joseph, and daughter Joanne and John; grandchildren, David, Christopher and Allison, Michael and Danielle, Johnny and Colleen, and Corey; great-grandchildren, Amelia and Easton; sister-in-law, Ann Matkosky; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Michael, John, her twin Eugene, and Tom, sisters, Katherine, Mary, and Ann.
