Joan C. Thomas, 86, of Dickson City, died on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Leonard J. Thomas, who died on March 24, 1995.

Born in Dickson City, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Gorczyk Budzinski, and she was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Dickson City, before its closing. She was a 1954 graduate of Dickson City High School, and she had been employed as a seamstress in the local garment industry by Pawni Pants, Olyphant, and also by K-Mart, Dickson City.  She and her husband Leonard owned and operated the Blue Bird Diner, in Factoryville for many years.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who loved bingo and going to the casinos.  She was the love of their lives to her children.  Her family would like to send a special thank you to Compassionate Care/65 Forward Geisinger.

Surviving are three daughters, Donna Zelno, and husband, Charlie, Eynon, Darlene Diehl, and husband, Robert, Dickson City, and Pauline Willis, and husband, George, Throop; her guardian Adam; seven grandchildren; Jeffery, Jason, Justin, Scott, Leann, Brittney, and Adam; and six great-grandchildren; Gabby, Kaliena, Avery, Autumn, Nicholas, and Gwen; a brother, Raymond Libby, Olyphant; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Lee Thomas, a sister, Shirley Holl, and two brothers, Michael, and Eugene.
