The funeral will be Monday at 9 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with a mass of Cristian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Visitation Church, by Msgr. Patrick Pratico pastor. Entombment, St. Mary’s Mausoleum, Dickson City.

Friends may call Sunday, 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. For directions or to send an online condolence, visit the funeral home website. Irene T. Kasmark Kaczmarek, 98, a resident of the Green Ridge Health Care Center, and formerly of Dickson City, died Thursday, November 19, 2020, at the center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank. He died on August 18, 2000.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Stella Bielawski Krzykwa, and she was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City. She was a former member of its Christian Mothers Society, and St. Theresa’s Society, and the Catholic Golden Age.

She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Parochial School and Dickson City High School. Prior to retirement, she was employed in the local garment industry. She was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5937 auxiliary, and later she served with the auxiliary to Veterans of Foreign Wars Shopa Davey Post 6082, Peckville. Irene was also a cub scout pack mother, and she made rosaries for the Catholic Golden Age.

She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt who enjoyed crocheting, quilting, sewing, and needlepoint. She was an excellent baker who loved to draw, do crossword puzzles, dance to polkas, and watch Lawrence Welk. She will be deeply missed.

Surviving are four sons, Frank, and wife, Gale, North Port, FL, Joseph and wife, Michele, North Catasauqua, PA, Mark and Daniel, both of Dickson City; grandchildren, Leslie Ricci, and husband, Ron III, Brendan Kaczmarek and wife, Leila, Lindsay Loomis, and husband, John and Charissa Kaczmarek, and fiancée Brian Goodell; great-grandchildren, John Loomis and Ron Ricci IV; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Krzykwa, and sisters, Regina Boyarsky, Sophie Skora, and Helen Lipinski.
