A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday Jan. 15, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Visitation Church , Dundaff St., Dickson City.  Friends may call on Monday Jan. 14 from 6-8 p.m. at Frank T. Hannah Kelly Dermody died peacefully on Wednesday morning , January 9, 2019 surrounded by her children at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore.

Born in Scranton, on September 12, 1947 Hannah was the daughter of the late Edward and Madelyn Casey Kelly of Archbald, PA.  She attended St. Rose High School in Carbondale and resided in Blakely for the past 10 years.

Known affectionately as “Nanny” to her grandchildren, Hannah spent her early days with her seven siblings helping her father, former owner of Kelly’s Creamery, deliver dairy products to homes across Lackawanna County.  Prior to retirement, she was a devoted stay at home mother for many years before working at W.W. Norton Book Company.  She had an affinity for collecting antiques, painting, and crafting.

Hannah possessed an enviable talent for turning strangers into friends wherever she went, leaving a lasting effect on anyone she interacted with.  A loving mother and grandmother, Hannah’s affection for her children and grandchildren was boundless.  She has left behind fond memories of warmhearted tenderness to her loved ones.

Hannah is survived by daughter, Kelly Vituszynski, and husband Steve of Dickson City;  Son Kevin Dermody and partner Mindy Levit of Washington, D.C.; Grandchildren Joshua, Jacob, and Emmaline Vituszynski; Brothers Edward and wife Patty Kelly and Timmy Kelly of Archbald; Sisters Mary Kelly Jennings and husband Patrick of Brookfield, CT; Kathy Burke and husband Thomas; Gina Mullen and husband William; and Teresa O’Connor and husband Gerard, all of Archbald; and her former husband James Dermody of Blakely;  and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Patuk.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Hospice of Sacred Heart for their comfort and compassion during Hannah’s final days.  In leiu of flowers, donations can be made in Hannah’s name to the Everhart Museum for children’s arts programs.  Everhart museum 1901 Mulberry St. Scranton, PA 18510
