The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. with mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City.  Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dickson City.  Anyone attending the funeral should go directly to the church.  Arrangements are by the Frank T. Gerald F. Shemonsky, 79, a resident of Gino Merli Veterans Center, Scranton, and formerly of Dickson City, died Sunday morning at the Regional Hospital of Scranton.

Born in Dickson City, he was the son of the late Frank and Jean Lubniewski Shemonsky, and he was a graduate of Dickson City High School, and the University of Maryland, with a BS degree in Accounting.  Prior to his illness he was employed as an accountant.  He also served with the US Air Force.

Gerald was a kind and gentle soul who played high school baseball, and he was a New York Yankee fan.  He enjoyed reading the Wall Street Journal and playing poker.  He will be deeply missed by his family.

Surviving is a sister Susan Logorda, and husband, William, Bethlehem; a brother, Michael Shemonsky, Kutztown; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Kman.
