George Siniawa, 88, of Scott Twp., died Friday April 24, 2015 at the VNA Hospice Unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. He was preceded in death by his wives, Genevieve Gazella Siniawa and Ann Novack Siniawa.

Born in Justus, he was the son of the late Peter and Hazel Petrochko Siniawa and he was a member of St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City. He was educated in Scott Twp. Schools and prior to retirement he owned and operated Siniawa’s Auto Repair and Towing. He served with the US Navy during World War ll and he was a member of Shopa Davey VFW Post 6082, Peckville, and American Legion Post 0570, Blakely-Olyphant.

He was a loving and caring father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle who enjoyed fishing and having coffee with his buddies in his “Shanty”. He was a well known auto mechanic who would travel anywhere to help someone in need. He especially loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

George’s family would like to thank the staff at VNA Hospice for their kind and compassionate care during his illness, along with David Krukovitz his caregiver.

Surviving are two daughters, Jean Ciupinski and life companion, Phyllis Bender, Elizabethtown, PA, Joyce Krukovitz and husband David, Olyphant; a son, Peter Siniawa and wife, Maureen, Eynon; four grandchildren, Lori Runco and husband, Charles, Elizabeth Zuroski and husband, Carl, Dustin Siniawa and wife, Kristine and Morgan Siniawa; three great grandchildren, Chloe and Charles Runco, and Luka Zuroski; a brother, Daniel Siniawa and wife, Diane, Dalton; step children, Karen Van Fleet, Newton Twp. and Nicole Richardson and husband, James, Justus; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Brandon Peter Siniawa; a sister, Mary Super and brothers, Joseph, Walter and William Siniawa.

The funeral with military honors will be Monday at 9 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Scott Twp.
