Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.

Elizabeth “Betty” Rinkunas, 85, of Dickson City, died Monday February 8, 2016 at the Green Ridge Nursing Facility, Scranton.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Myrtle Smerdon Fawcett. She was educated in Scranton Public Schools and she had been employed in the local garment industry as a seamstress.

She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and playing bingo. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family would like to thank the staff at the Green Ridge Nursing Facility for their wonderful care. She will be deeply missed by her family.

Surviving are two children, Patricia Krushinski and husband, Atty. Michael Krushinski, Dickson City; son, Al Rinkunas and wife, Doreen, Dickson City; daughter in law, Eileen Rinkunas, Scranton; grandchildren, Kimberly Evans, Laura Bondy, Suzanne, Barbara, Brian, Sara and Matthew Rinkunas; great grandchildren, Jake Bondy, Luke and Ben Evans, Adrianna and Isabella Fay; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Rinkunas; brothers, James, Jerry and Jack Fawcett and a sister, Leona Harper.
