The funeral with military honors will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc. 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City. Services will be conducted by Rev. Arthur Davis.

Edward Kucharski, 74, a resident of Dickson City, died Saturday March 5, 2016 at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton after being stricken ill at home. He was preceded in death by his wife the former Jeanette Harris Kucharski, she died April 11, 2005.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Stanley and Staphina Symosh Kucharski. He was a graduate of Taylor High School and he served with the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed in the construction industry prior to retirement, and he was a member of Union Local 130. He was a member of the American Legion Post 665, Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 11 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5937 all of Dickson City.

Pop was a great man who was loved by so many and will be sorely missed. He loved spending time with his grandsons, traveling,being outside in the sun ,and his Cadillac’s. He was an avid golfer, and sports fan and enjoyed watching the games with his grandsons. His teams were the Packers, Celtics, Red Sox, Syracuse, and his favorite team, The Mid Valley Spartans. He took full advantage of being a 3 time cancer survivor by living each day to the fullest. Life here will not be the same without him.

Surviving are two daughters, Geraldine Balmer and her husband, Harold and Shirley Kalinowski and her husband, Ed, both of Dickson City; two sons, Michael Moran and his wife, Rose, Covington Twp.,  and Stephen Moran and his wife Tina, Scranton; 19 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; his companion, Maggie Montero, Dunmore; sisters, Ann Marie Williams and husband, Donald, Taylor, Diane Stranieri and husband, Neil, Scranton and Donna Miskell and husband, Michael, Scranton; two brothers, William Kucharski and wife, Rosie, Avoca and Stanley Kucharski and wife, Marie, Dunmore; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a two sons, Edward Kucharski and Robert Moran and infant granddaughter, Anna Kalinowski and a sister, Gloria Brezinski.
