Edward H. Marushock Sr., 58, of Throop, died peacefully Saturday morning August 20, 2016, at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Philadelphia surrounded by his loving family.  He is survived by his wife of 35 years the former, Anna DeGrazio.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of Constance Karpitsky Marushock, Throop and the late George Marushock Sr. and he was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Scranton.  He was a 1975 graduate of Mid Valley High School and he owned and operated Marushock Trucking, Throop.

“Big Ed”, also known as “44”, left a lasting impression on anyone he met. Always quick with a story or a joke, there wasn’t a person he met that didn’t think the world of him. From a very young age, he took a passion to trucks, originating from his father’s family business. You could usually find him at the garage- but every Sunday you knew to look at the head of the table where he shared dinner with his family as they meant the world to him. He was most certainly the glue of the family. His kids looked up to him, his grandchildren adored their Papa, and his wife, Anna, was not only his best friend, but truly the love of his life. Their marriage set the perfect example of what true love can really do.

Surviving are four children, son, Edward Marushock Jr. and fiancée Bobbi Perrone; daughter, Melissa Gilgallon and husband, Scott; son, George Marushock; daughter, Anna Marie Marushock and boyfriend, Keith Smith; grandchildren, Brendan, Austin, Lorenzo and soon to be born Landon; two brothers, George Marushock Jr., and Chad Marushock and wife, Danelle; two sisters, Denise Pietruszkiewicz and husband, Michael and Patrice Scarlata and husband, Christopher; nieces, nephews and cousins.
