Dorothy M. Nagurney, 82, a resident of Green Ridge Health Care Center, died Friday morning May 5, 2017 at the center. Formerly of Throop, Dorothy was happily married for 62 years to John (Jack) Nagurney who died in 2014.

Born in Dickson City, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Zigmund Sniegocki and Josephine Pietriewicz Sniegocki and a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Throop. Full of energy, Dorothy never sat still in retirement. She loved shopping, traveling on cruises, going to the casino and visiting family. She loved cooking traditional polish meals and pastries, passing on her hand written recipes. She was a loving but demanding mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her love of style and generous nature will be forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved her.

The family fondly thanks the staff of the Green Ridge Health Care Center for their unwavering care of Dotti for four years and Celtic Hospice for their recent care.

Surviving are three children, two sons, David and wife, Jane, Throop; and Donald and wife, Beth, North Wales; and a daughter, Denise Adamitis, Moscow. She also was blessed with six grandchildren, Laura Fallon (Kevin), John Nagurney (Courtney), Josie Nagurney, Molly Adamitis, Erik Adamitis (Gemma) and Max Adamitis. In addition, two great-grandchildren were fortunate enough to know her, David and Joshua Fallon.

Dorothy was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, George Adamitis and brother Ted.

The funeral will be Monday at 9 a.m.  from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 at Blessed Sacrament Church.
