The funeral will be Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City. Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dickson City.

Friends may call Wednesday 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to either St. Joseph’s Center, 2010 Adams Ave., Scranton, PA 18509 or the American Cancer Society, 712 S. Keyser Ave., Taylor, PA 18517. For directions or to send an online condolence visit the funeral home web site.

Dolores Hojnoski,  of Dickson City, died Sunday morning February 7, 2016 at the VNA Hospice Unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. She was preceded in death by her husband Ignatius John Hojnoski. He died August 29, 2010.

Born in Dickson City, she was the daughter of the late Julius and Stella Tillman Josephkovitz and she was a member of St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City and its Christian Mothers and St. Theresa‘s Society. She was a graduate of Dickson City High School and Marywood University. She attended Temple University and the Moore Institute of Art, Philadelphia. She instituted the Art program at Wharton, NJ schools and prior  retirement was employed as an art teacher in the Mid Valley School District. She was a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association.

She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed playing bingo, painting, reading, chatting with friends and spending time at her cottage on Newton Lake. Her family would like to thank the staff at the VNA Hospice for their compassion and care.

Surviving are daughters, Susan Riviello and husband, Ted, Pittston Twp.,and Sandra Cooper and husband, Stephen, Stanford, CA; a son, Michael Hojnoski and wife, Pamela, Newton Lake; grandchildren, Andrew and Christopher Hojnoski, David Riviello and Jeanna & Alicia Cooper.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Kovitz and sisters, Lois Kalczynski and Helen Zelazinski.
