The funeral will be Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City.  Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to either the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter or the American Heart Association.  To leave an online condolence visit

Carolyn R. Cole, 68, of Dickson City, died unexpectedly Sunday evening at the Regional Hospital of Scranton.  She is survived by her beloved husband,
John (Buckets) Cole; They had been happily married for 48 wonderful years.
Born in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rita Lloyd Brozina and she was a member of St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson
City.  She was a graduate of Ben Franklin High School where she was voted best dancer of the class of 1967. She was employed by ATI Manufacturing and
Steel Meadows School, Scott Twp. Prior to retirement she was employed at Allied Services, Scranton in their house keeping department where she made many
life long friends.
Carolyn spent a large part of her life devoted to raising her children and grandchildren, who she was extremely proud of. Carolyn’s home was always filled with the sounds of music and the smell of dinner. She loved being with her friends and family, trips to the Bloomsburg fair to see her sister, and going to the YMCA for her silver sneakers water aerobics classes. She loved all of her pets dearly including her dogs, cats, birds, and her newest puppy Oliver.
Carolyn’s family would like to thank Vascular Surgeon Dr. Batzel and Cardiologist Dr. Olsen for his compassionate care for over 20 years.
Surviving are two children, daughter Lorrie Cole Krajewski, Throop; and son, James  Cole and wife, Kate, Sydney, Australia; six grandchildren, Ashley Krajewski and companion, Jonathan Runco, Anissa Krajewski, Cole Bryant, Ellie, Maddison and Lachlan Cole; a sister, Diane Dobasewski, Carbondale;  and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Loff.
