The funeral service will be Saturday July 21, with a blessing service  at 9:30am in the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, 601 Dundaff St. Dickson City by Msgr. Patrick Patico. Burial will follow at Dunmore Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, July 20 from 5pm-8pm at the funeral home.

Brian Joseph Barscheski, 62, of Jessup, PA passed away on July 16, 2018.

Brian was the son of the late Joseph and Rose Stead Barscheski.

In his youth, Brian was a Cadet Lieutenant Colonel and Public Affairs Officer in the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) and in 1972 he earned both the Billy Mitchel and Amelia Earhart awards during his service. He worked at Trane Company and later Cinram. In his later years, he had taken up hobbies such as model building, playing video games, and mining for gold in North Carolina. He
was an omnilegent reader and lover of books, amassing a personal library containing well over 1,000.  He had a brilliant mind and quick wit that made him an instant favorite of anyone that met him.

Brian was a caring husband, loving father, supportive brother, and great friend.

He is survived by his wife JoAnn of 41 years and his six children: Chris and his
wife Holly, Josh, Megan, Adam and his wife Alyshia, David and his girlfriend Kelly, and youngest son Patrick, who is currently serving with the United States Air Force in South Korea; his three brothers: Jimmy and his companion Robyn Poggi, Darren and his wife Debbie, and Jason and his
wife Tina.
