Mazur Funeral Home, Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Visitation  Church, Dickson City.  Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Barbara A. Shemonsky Kman, 76, of Olyphant, died Saturday evening May 20, 2017 at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton.

 

Born in Dickson City, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Jean Lubniewski Shemonsky and she was a member of St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City.  She was a graduate of Dickson City High School and Marywood University with a BS degree in Social Work.  Prior to retirement she was employed by St. Joseph’s Center, Scranton.

 

Barbara was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend who enjoyed volunteering at St. Joseph’s Center and loved sharing her time with the children. Her sole grandchild, Indigo, was the light of her life and didn’t miss a day speaking with her. She was a good friend of Bill W.’s for over 40 years.

 

Surviving is a son, Andrew Kman and wife, Dee Dee Tiller, Brooklyn, NY and a daughter, Candace Kman and husband, Michael Malinowski, Las Vegas, NV; a granddaughter, Indigo Kman-Malinowski, Las Vegas, NV; a sister, Susan Logorda and husband, William,  Bethlehem; two brothers, Jerry Shemonsky, Scranton and Michael Shemonsky, Weatherly; former husband, Andrew Kman, East Stroudsburg; nieces and nephews.
