The funeral will be Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City with mass at 9 in St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City. Interment, St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Scott Twp.

Anthony J. Homitz Jr., 68, a resident of Dickson City, died Friday evening at Allied Skilled Nursing Facility, Scranton. He is survived by his wife the former, MaryAnn Dobreneski.

Born in Peckville, he was the son of the late Anthony S. and Albina Kalinowski Homitz and he was a member of St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City. He was a graduate of Dickson City High School class of 1965 and Johnson Technical Institute. He had been employed by Weston, The Grove Silk Mill, Specialty Records later Cinram and he retired from CPG International, Moosic, as a draftsman.

Anthony was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who enjoyed, fishing, bowling, photography, picking mushrooms, walking his dog, Mindy and picnics at the local state parks with his family. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Surviving are two sons, Anthony M. Homitz and wife, Michele, Dunmore and Brian Homitz, Dickson City and fiancée, Christine Cardona; grandson, Brandon and granddaughters, Morgan and Krystin; great grandchildren, Adam, Noah and Brielle; a brother, Stanley Homitz, Archbald and a sister, Donna Homitz-Seyedian and husband, Mojitaba, Dunkirk, NY; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister in law, Debra Homitz.
