Ann Anastasia Sheruda, of Scott Twp., died Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at the home of her son in Dalton.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Sheruda.  He died on July 19, 2015.

She was the daughter of the late Louis and Josephine Falisiewicz Walinger, Polish immigrants, who settled in the Mid Valley area.  In the early part of her marriage, she worked for Waitt & Bond Cigar Factory. Her greatest joy, however, was being a mother and a homemaker. She was an excellent cook and baker and shared the fruit of her skills not only with her family but with neighbors, friends, her doctor, priest, hairdresser, etc. She was always very kind and generous. She was the constant for her husband, the task completer for her children, the tradition setter for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A devout Catholic, and member of St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City, where she attended daily Mass for years with her husband and continued that practice after his passing until her hospitalization. She was very proud of her family and enjoyed the many gatherings shared with her loved ones.

She is survived by two sons, Gary Sheruda (Ekaterini) West Chester, PA, and Michael Sheruda (Beverly) Dalton, PA. Her surviving grandchildren include Michelle Routhier (David) with sons William and Ben; Dr. Michael G. Sheruda (Dr. Maral Avetian Sheruda) with children Amelia, Mikey, and Claire; Matthew Sheruda, Dr. Jessica Sheruda, and Daniel Sheruda (Karen) with children Lola and Natalie. She is also survived by 3 step grandchildren: Chris Soublis, Angie Luecke (Todd), and their girls Alexa Rae & Katerina; and Dimitri Soublis with children Dimitri, Alexander, and Maximus.

She shared a close relationship with her nephew, James Walinger, and family; niece, Lorraine Walinger and family, niece Marianne Stevens and family, cousins Mae Waslick and Robert Waslick and family, and her sister-in-law and husband, Millie and Buddy Kuzmiak who were also her neighbors. Her lifelong friend, Elaine King, with whom she shared many good times, preceded her in death by a few weeks. They are probably organizing a card game and snacks as we grieve!

She had five siblings who preceded her in death, Patty Smith, Mary Ann Waslick, Frank Walinger, Joe Walinger, and Helen Symanski.

The funeral will be Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur  Mazur’s Funeral Home, Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. celebrated at St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City.  Entombment will be at St. Mary Cemetery.
