Angelo “Sonny” Ambrosecchia, 82, of Olyphant, died Sunday evening November 18, 2018, at the Gardens of Green Ridge, Scranton.  He is survived by his wife the former Mary Colachino.

Born in Dunmore, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Romano Ambrosecchia, and he was a member of St. James Church, Jessup.  He was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School, and he had been employed by the Pennsylvania Gas and Water Company prior to retirement.  He was an Army veteran serving as a medic in Korea.

He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who enjoyed horseracing, gardening, but especially spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.  His family would like to thank the staff of the Gardens at Green Ridge, and Personnel Home Healthcare and Hospice for their kind and considerate care.

Surviving is a daughter, Lisa Wagner, and husband, Richard, Olyphant; a son, Angelo Ambrosecchia Jr., and wife, Jenilyn, Madison Twp.; six grandchildren, Brody Caines, A J Ambrosecchia, Ellie Ambrosecchia, Brittni Caines, Kelli Caines, and, P.J. Caines, and wife, Erica; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carmen Gurney, and husband, George, Tunkhannock, and Joy Staff, and husband, Ken, Oklahoma; a brother, Martin Ambrosecchia, and wife, Joanne, Scranton; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Ambrosecchia.
