Parchinski , Dolores . Obituary

Dolores B. “Dee” Parchinski, 85, of Dickson City, died March 17, 2015 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore F. Parchinski, December 16, 2011. They were married in 1954 and married 57 years on February 6, 2011.

Born in Old Forge, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Emily Chmiel Talalai and she was a member of St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City. She was a graduate of St. Michael’s Parochial School, Old Forge and Old Forge High School class of 1947. She was a member of The Polish Woman’s Alliance and was a skilled seamstress working at various dress factories in Old Forge, Olyphant, Dickson City, and Scranton.

She was a kind, gentle, caring, mother, grandmother and sister. She was skilled at baking, sewing, family history and storytelling along with being an avid teacher of her skills. She also enjoyed dancing and listening to Polkas and working crossword puzzles.

Surviving are two sons, Ted Parchinski and wife Judy, Clarks Summit; Jerome Parchinski and partner Kelvy, Maine/Massachusetts; a daughter Carol Gilbody and husband Stephen, Clarks Summit; a granddaughter Laura Emily Gilbody; a sister Romaine, Old Forge and brothers Leonard, New Jersey and Raymond, Allentown.

She was preceded in death by infant son Raymond Parchinski, a brother Anthony Talalai, and sisters Florence Talalai and Odelia Mattioli.

The funeral will be Friday, March 20, 2015 at 9 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, PA with mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Scott Twp.
