Buchinski , Lisa Ann . Obituary


Lisa Ann Buchinski, 48 of Dickson City, died Sunday morning February 1, 2015 at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of Richard and Sylvia Ricino Buchinski, Dickson City and she was a member of Christ the King Parish at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, Eynon. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Parochial School, Dickson City and Bishop O’Hara High School and she also attended Marywood University. She was employed as a registered assistant at Stifel Financial Co., Wilkes-Barre and for 16 years she tended bar at VFW Post 7963, Eynon.

Lisa was a loving daughter, sister and friend. She was an independent woman and strong willed. Her friends could always count on her when they needed advice or just someone to talk to.

She enjoyed spending time with her friends, traveling to casinos, wine tours and social gatherings. She loved shopping with her mother and always had room in her life to spend quality time with family. She always put others before herself and she was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Surviving is a brother, Richard Buchinski, Dickson City and fiancée Renee Layland; and many cousins.

The funeral will be Friday at 9 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City with mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s of Czestochowa Church, Eynon. Interment, St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Blakely.

Friends may call Thursday 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, 1275 York Ave., New York, NY 10065. For directions or to leave an online condolence visit the funeral home website.
