LaPergola , Louis C. . Obituary


Louis C. LaPergola, 90, a resident of Dickson City, died Thursday morning at Regional Hospital of Scranton. He was preceded in death by his wife the former Helen B. Uscenski who died March 23, 2006.

Born in Dunmore, he was the son of the late Gaetano and Carmella Magri LaPergola and he was a member of St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City and a former member of its Holy Name Society. He attended Dunmore High School and prior to retirement he was employed by Superior Door and Sash Company as a machinist. He served in the US Army during World War II with the 5th Infantry and he was a member of American Legion Post 665, Dickson City.

He was a quiet man who loved his family. He enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and Las Vegas and he was an avid bowler. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and grand dogs and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Surviving are two daughters, Donna Musyt and husband, Robert, Columbia, PA, and Teresa Donato and husband, Richard, Williamstown, NJ; three grandchildren, Jason Tragis and wife, Jessica, Shannon Unger and husband, John and Sherri Foster and husband, Steve; six great grandchildren, Jordan, Kassidy, Gavin and Ciera Tragis and Sophia and Summer Foster; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Gail LaPergola; four brothers, Cataldo, Salvatore, Anthony and Peter LaPergola and five sisters, Gertrude Lomonico-Giorgio, Josephine Chmielowicz, Patricia LaPergola, Carmella Phillips and Theresa Cipriano.

The funeral with military honors will be Monday at 9 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc. 519 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dickson City.
