Colachino , Bernice E. . Obituary

Bernice E. Colachino, 78, of Dickson City, died Sunday morning at the Linwood Health and Rehab Center, Scranton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony “Butch” Colachino, who died August 23, 1996.

Born in Dickson City, she was the daughter of the late John and Eva Homa Krupa and she was a former member of the Bradley Memorial United Methodist Church, Dickson City. She was a graduate of Dickson City High School and the Scranton State General Hospital School of Nursing. She had been employed by the Mid Valley School District as a school nurse prior to retirement.

Bernice was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and going to lunch with her friends. Bernice was an avid reader and she enjoyed going to movies with her sister in law Julie. Her cats, Harry and Oscar were special to her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Her family would like to extend a special thank you to all the hospice nurses who cared for her especially Ann Marie Shaffer, also to Martin Feola for his help and support.

Surviving is a daughter, Toni Novojoski and husband, Leonard, Dickson City; grandchildren, Lenny, Tyler and Angel Novojoski all of Dickson City; brothers and sisters in law, Fred and Julie Colachino, Archbald and Frank and Carol Colachino, Peckville; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, John Krupa.

The funeral will be Thursday at 11:15 a.m. with services by Rev. Michael Shambora in the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc. 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City. Interment Dunmore Cemetery, Dunmore.
