Zarnosky , Robert . Obituary


Robert "Bobby" Zarnosky died on November 26, 2014 at the VNA Hospice at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton.

A life-long resident of Blakely, Bobby was also a life-time member of All Saints Russian Orthodox Church in Olyphant, Pa. Bobby was the son of the late Martin and Antoinette Kuchwara Zarnosky.

After graduating from Blakely High School, he enlisted in the United States Army. Upon leaving military service, Bobby took a position with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor. He remained in the employ of the state until he retired.

For several decades, Bobby loved to work in his garden, growing and nurturing flowers and using his green thumb to grow vegetables. His tomatoes were consistently among the best. For many years, he bowled on various leagues in Blakely and Dickson City. Golf was one of his favorite pastimes. Unfortunately, due to various physical issues, he was unable to pursue his athletic activities for several years prior to his death.

Surviving is a sister-in-law, Theresa Zarnosky of Dunmore, an aunt, Irene Occhipinti of Dunmore, and many cousins. Many thanks to his cousin, Dr. Diakiw, for his care and concern for Bobby.

A brother, Peter Zarnosky, preceded him in death on May 27, 2014.

The viewing will be held on Sunday from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm with parastas at 4:00 pm at the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City. The funeral will be on Monday, December 1, at 10:00 am, originating at All Saints Russian Orthodox Church, 210 Susquehanna Ave., Olyphant. Those planning to attend should go directly to the church.

Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery, Peckville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a memorial contribution in Bobby's name be given to All Saints Russian Orthodox Church, 210 Susquehanna Ave., Olyphant, PA 18447.
