The funeral will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City.   Friends may call on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, Dickson City.

Marie J. Horn, 82, of Dickson City died Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit.

Born in Dickson City, she was the daughter of the late Piotr and Ewa Magiera and was a member of St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City and St. Peter’s Cathedral, Scranton.  Marie was a graduate of Dickson City High School, class of 1952, and the Computer Programming Institute of Delaware-Kansas City.  After high school Marie joined the United States Army, serving for two years.  She was employed as a program analyst for Sprint Corporation in Kansas City, Missouri, and returned to Dickson City in 1999 after retiring.

Marie loved and respected all of God’s creatures and forever valued all of life’s living things.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to her caretakers from the past month, and the entire staff of Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit for the excellent care they gave Marie.

Marie is survived by her beloved cat Abby and her cousin Robert Kolosinsky, Throop.

Marie was the last surviving member of her family, proceeded in death by an infant brother, Joseph, and brothers Thomas and Chester Juris.
