The funeral will be Monday at 9 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City with mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, Olyphant, celebrated by Rev. Scott Sterowski and Msgr. Michael Delaney.  Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Blakely.  Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity; or just perform an act of kindness in her memory.   To leave an online condolence visits the funeral home website.

Margaret Mary Gaffney, 87, of Dickson City, died peacefully in her sleep at home Friday morning, March 23, 2018.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Gaffney.  He died July 28, 1998.

Born in Olyphant, she was the daughter of the late John “Swat” and Margaret Casey Mulligan, and she was a member of Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick’s Church, Olyphant.  She was a graduate of St. Patrick’s High School, Olyphant and she had been employed as a buyer for Mackie’s Dress Shop, Olyphant.

Margaret Mary had a unique sense of humor.  She was truly beautiful with a flair for fashion, and style.  She loved her family, her home, and the love of her life, Paul whom she deeply missed.  She was a devout Catholic, always saying her prayers, and watching her mass daily.

Her family would like to thank her caregivers and nurses, also Drs. Linda Barrese and Linda Thomas, her granddaughter, Beckie, and her friend Rev. Scott Sterowski for their loving and compassionate care.

Surviving is a daughter, Noreen Krott, and husband, Daniel, Dickson City; granddaughter, Rebecca Alunni and husband, Ryan, Dickson City and their children, Paul, Ryan, and Elena Alunni; grandson, Daniel Krott, and wife, Carrie, Greenfield Twp., and their children, Abigail and Daniel Krott; cousin, Paul King and wife, Sharon, Dickson City.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Patrick “Jackie” Mulligan and his wife, Annette.
