The funeral will be Wednesday, April 18th, at 10 am at St. John Vianney Parish at Corpus Christi Church, Montdale, with interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Montdale. Those attending the funeral are asked to go directly to church.

Eleanor A. Krzan, 85, of Scott Twp, died Friday evening at home. She is survived by her husband, of 61 years, Anthony E. Krzan Jr.

Born in Peckville, she was the daughter of the late George and Veronica Killiany Brenzel, and was a member of St. John Vianney at Corpus Christi Church, Montdale. She was a graduate of Blakely HS and Lackawanna College, and prior to retirement was employed by Weston Corp.

Eleanor loved crocheting, quilting, baking for the holidays, and vacations to Cape May, NJ, her favorite place. She loved her three grandsons, who had a special place in her heart and were the loves of her life. Eleanor was also the recipient of the American Legion School Award for her courage, character, service, companionship, and scholarship.

Eleanor’s family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. James Sheerer and the Traditional Home Health and Hospice nursing staff, to Deanna McConnell and Mihwa Tilberry, to all the family and friends who provided their loving support over the last several months, and a special thank you to JoAnne Giello for the special care she gave Eleanor.

Surviving is one daughter, Mary Ellen and husband Walter Zabrowski Jr., Montdale, three grandsons, Walter III and wife Sara, Waymart, Daniel, Montdale, and Bryan, Steamboat Springs, CO, and two sisters, Dorothy Villegas, Jessup, and Betty Martini, Scranton. Brothers and sisters-in-law, Eleanor Zawacki, and husband, Leonard, Dickson City, Rosalie Wisniewski, Montdale, Pearl Tratthen, and husband, Richard, Montdale, Anna Mae Stracham, and husband, Stanley, Montdale, and Walter Krzan, and wife, Darlys, Montdale; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death a son, Anthony Daniel Krzan III, and a brother, George Brenzel.
