Ceil Castellano, 83, of Dickson City, died Friday morning, June 1, 2018 at Allied Skilled Nursing Facility, Scranton.  She is survived by her husband, James Castellano, with whom she celebrated 53 years of marriage.

Born in Dickson City, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary Matrisian Wolochowicz, and was a member of All Saints Orthodox Church, Olyphant.

Ceil loved spending quality time with her family, and always put her family and friends first.  She would never say no to anyone in need and always offered to help.  Whether it be a ride to an appointment, run an errand, or babysit one of her many nieces and nephews, she was always there at a moment’s notice.

Ceil loved shopping and would never pass up a bargain. She made trips to her favorite stores and would always find a great buy for someone in the family

Ceil was an excellent cook and baker.  She faithfully carried on generations of family recipes.  Her cheesecakes, homemade bread chicken soup and pigs in the blanket were the best.

Her family would like to express its gratitude to the eighth floor staff at Regional Hospital, the staff at Allied Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center, Dr. Martin Hyzinski and staff and Dr. Christopher Peters.

Surviving is a son, Ira Castellano, Dickson City; sisters, Joanne Wolochowicz, Dickson City, Sonya Dzwonczyk, Parsippany, NJ, and Andrea Castellani, Peckville; sister-in-law, Delores Wolo, Gettysburg, Pa; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Theresa Piersimoni, and Mary Eckert; brothers, Thomas and Michael Wolo; brothers-in-law, Robert Castellani, Michael Dzwonczyk, and James Eckert.

The funeral will be Wednesday, June 6th with services at 9:30am in All Saints Orthodox Church, Olyphant.   Interment All Saints Orthodox Cemetery, Blakely.  Friends may call Tuesday 4-8pm at Frank T.
