Bernice Valtos Chorba, 76, of Severn, Maryland, and formerly of Dickson City, passed away peacefully at home on May 14, 2018.  She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Chorba Sr., and they would have celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on June 18, 2018.

Born and raised in Dickson City, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Valtos, and she was a graduate of Dickson City High School.  Bernice met her husband while in school, married, and traveled the world along-side Tom.  They settled in Maryland where she spent 28 years working in the Pershing Hills Elementary School and as the Principal’s secretary until retirement.

Bernice and Tom were blessed with loving and caring children; Thomas Jr., at home, Jacqueline, and her wife, Sara, Columbia, Maryland, and Daniel, Boynton Beach, Florida; her granddaughter, Amber Lynn Christino, Paris, France, and grandson, Nicholas Christino, Towson, Maryland; Bernice’s siblings, Helen Oleary, and husband, Gerald, Eynon; William Valtos, and wife, Rose, Illinois, John Valtos, and wife, Patricia, Peckville; Gerald Valtos, and wife, Donna, Avoca, and Ronald Valtos, Avoca, and several nieces and nephews, and godchildren.

Bernice was preceded in death by her beautiful daughter, Michele Mihok, sister, Marge and brothers, James, and Joseph.
