The funeral with military honors will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Paul’s Church, 1510 Penn Ave., Scranton.  Friends may call Friday 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Angelo J. Forgione, 101, of Dickson City, died Tuesday evening June 13, 2017 at home.  He is survived by his wife the former, Eileen Baldassini.

 

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Rocco and Maria Fischetti Forgione and he was a member of St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City.  He was a graduate of Central High School and prior to retirement he was employed in quality control at Industrial Transformer of Gouldsboro.  He served with the US Army from 1943 to 1945 during World War II and with the US Navy from 1950 to 1952 during the Korean War.

 

Angelo’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Nina Wright for her wonderful care and love, and to the staff of the Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their care and compassion.

 

Surviving is a daughter, Laurie Schild, Dickson City; three grandchildren, Richard Lochie, WA, Michael Schild and Mary Kathleen Schild both of Dickson City; two great grandchildren, Casper Healey and Navaya Sojo; nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by brothers, James, Luch and George Forgione and sisters, Jenny Sylvester, Lillian Caprio and Philomena Forgione.
